Job Description: Community Paramedic

Background:  QuikMedic Community Paramedic is seeking experienced, initiative-taking individuals to fill the position of Community Paramedic. The Community Paramedic is an integral part of the QuikMedic care team.  The paramedic provides in-home patient assessments, clinical and social screenings, clinical interventions, patient education, and participates in telehealth visits from the patient’s home while connecting with the physician or nurse practitioner via Telehealth.  The paramedic must hold a state paramedic certification along with CPR and ACLS certifications.   Fast Growing Company with locations 11 locations in 5 different states.

Pay : Varies with experience, starting at $27.00 - 33.72/hour, plus incentive bonus per patient visit

Shift Times: 12 Hour Day Shift

Job Summary:

The Community Paramedic is responsible for the in-home assessment and treatment of patients.

Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Provide quality patient care per clinical operating guidelines and policies, protocols, and accepted standards of care.
  • Collaberate and communicate effectively with nurse practitioners, physicans, and other members of the health care team.
  • Interact with patients and patient families in a courteous, professional manner.
  • Complete and submit all documentation/paperwork daily.
  • Provide appropriate documentation of patient care and interventions, using proper spelling and accurate patient information, while using documentation and best practice guidelines.
  • Participate in care planning and discharge planning of patients, as assigned.
  • Complete initial in-home assessments and ongoing home visits as suitable for all assigned patients enrolled in the program
  • Operate all QuikMedic vehicles according to safety rules and regulations, company policies and procedures; federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and statutes.
  • Attend all mandated company training functions (initial and ongoing) or submit proof of completing approved equivalent training in a timely fashion.
  • Complete an equipment checklist at the beginning of each assigned shift and ensure compliance with minimum stock requirements, proper functioning, and cleanliness of all equipment and vehicle. Daily checksheet includes uploading self-photo in full uniform.
  • Keep continuity of the “As It Should Be” checklist throughout the workday.
  • Be knowledgeable of and comply with all QuikMedic company policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Maintain and submit all required certifications including state EMS certification, ACLS, CPR and state issued driver’s license.
  • Complete other duties as assigned by management.

 Qualifications

  • State certified as an paramedic as defined by the state law.
  • Possess a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • ACLS, CPR required.
  • Advanced Medical Life Support (AMLS) and/or Critical Care Paramedic (preferred)
  • Three years minimum of experience as a Paramedic (preferred)
  • Experience in mobile integrated healthcare and/or CP-C (preferred)
  • Must be in good standing with applicable state and federal regulatory bodies.
  • Must be able to pass the clinical scenarios test and PT test if applicable, including bending, twisting, and lifting to 200 lbs.
  • Must possess vital customer service and communication skills.
  • Must be able to work independently; must be able to function as part of a care planning team.
